Nelson Art Expo July 27-29 2012

An aircraft hangar owned by Air Nelson will be transformed into a giant gallery space in July, for the Nelson region’s inaugural three-day art expo.

Art Expo Nelson has secured $23,000 in funding from a Nelson City Council-funded programme for the event, which will showcase 100 selected regional and South Island artists.

The Regional Art Development Initiative (RADi) is behind the expo, and is the same group that produced the Nelson Arts Guide.

Up to 15 art dealers from across the country will meet the artists while being hosted by RADi, with an aim of encouraging professional relationships and transactions in galleries nationwide.
